Designing for a music composer is one of the most rewarding opportunities imaginable. Our client, Mr. Satish Raghunathan, is an exceptionally kind and talented music director. His unique taste and eye for detail, which encompass symmetry, harmony, and an appreciation for the imperfect yet beautiful, were an absolute delight to work with.
This studio is a dream realized. Our goal was to create a space where Mr. Raghunathan could compose and create music from any corner of the studio. We were particularly excited to propose a design that featured a piano as the central focal point. Although we were initially unsure if the client would acquire one, the power of visualization came through, and a new piano now graces the studio, adding a touch of class to the space.
Our aim was to achieve a stylish yet cozy interior that exudes warmth and welcome. The choice of colors, the character-defining elements, and the selection of materials, including herringbone-patterned wooden flooring, combine to create a visual symphony. This design accentuates the elegance and sophistication of the space from every vantage point.
Every meticulously curated detail in this space reflects our client's exquisite taste. Our goal was to create a sense of spaciousness, so the false ceiling was strategically designed to enhance the room's perceived height, incorporating angular configurations at the edges to optimize spatial dynamics.
The studio features an open pantry framed by checkered MS partitions, alongside a pivotable Ratan partition on the other side. Carefully selected furniture and decor infuse the space with warmth and charm. The main composing studio, the heart of the entire space, was designed with utmost attention to provide the music composer with maximum comfort to create his masterpieces.
The acoustics engineer, Mr. Jai Shankar, designed and calibrated the sound for this studio. He requested a design incorporating one hard wall and the use of breathable fabrics. We meticulously adhered to his brief, creating an acoustically perfect environment. Every project is special, but this one holds a special place in our hearts due to its close connection with music. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity!
