Project Type : Residence Design | Area : 1100 sft | Location : Chennai | Project Year : 2023

The Residence is Nestled along the heart of Kodambakkam, This cozy apartment is for a warm and loving family designed with character that branches from modernism and radiates elegance with a whiff of eclectic style. A versatile space that caters to their lifestyle needs. Understanding our client's cues and treating each space with utmost passion we've achieved curating every space to be at it's best by itself. Every apartments interior layout has two main goals to meet one is to make the space feel larger and functional. To achieve this first we reworked entire house's ceiling design to add volume to the space, then we used some illusive tricks by adding mirrors and wainscot paneling to do the magic. The wainscot details that run through the house creates a flow that makes the feel of the space extremely connected. The false-ceiling design is a beautiful weave between arches, exposed beams and floating doughnuts with smart lighting design that holds them together. This residence accommodates a living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, study room and a daughter's room. One enters the cozy living room through a cute passage with arched ceiling. The living room has a mixed color palette with neutral and bold colors. The clean white TV unit with back panel takes care of all the wiring to be concealed while a part of it holds space for decors.

The dining with the floating doughnut ceiling and centre chandelier draws all the focus of the apartment.. A cooler palette with plush seating and a huge framed mirror acts as a backdrop to add volume to the space. The crockery unit with wooden shelves adds additional character to the space. The master bedroom is neat with paneling that adds length to the room and we also added a mirror to the wardrobe to make the room look larger. We added a custom made chest of drawer to the room for additional storage. The kitchen has a warm palette with geometric patterned tiles that adorn the walls. The additional beading details to end the vertical continuation of the tiles frames the kitchen artistically. The daughter's bedroom is spacious and is composed with a functional dressing, a bay window for reading and a comforting cot with vertically tufted headboard. We went a little bold with the colour that respond well with the light conditions of the space. The study room with the pooja is an interesting room with ceiling high book units with fluted glass shutters. We designed the fixed furnitures to cater our client's needs. This project is all about connecting the spaces with flow that is visually pleasing and functionally purposeful. Every design and material choice we made has been a beautiful yet bold choice and we are grateful to see our client's satisfied.
