Bringing the Blue from Santorini, Greece all the way to a private roof garden in East Coast Road, Chennai was truly exciting. We worked on a three levelled roof garden; the minute we saw the levels we exactly knew what would look great here. A typical terrace of a home stay which we transformed completely into something unexpected. Our goal was to utilise the space well, keep it white, well-lit and add pops of the perfect moon blue to highlight the space. The beauty in the streets of Santorini are not just the blues, but are also the prettiest bogan-villa plants that add rich colours to every nook and corners of the white space act as a canvas. We carefully studied all the details that would shape up the feel of the space, from lighting, civil details to plants. The coped walls, curved curbs and blue windows are the essence that was majorly blended into this design. 

​We smoothen the edges of the walls, altered the staircase with perfect curves, added additional walls with arched door ways and small picket fence doors. In order to add more character to the space we constructed a wall and added a louvered window that frames the artwork of  a scene that portrays a breathtaking view of Santorini. We converted the existing column extension in the middle of the terrace to a pedestal with a street lamp and added a little drama to the space. This space is being used for social gatherings and private family times had to be lit extremely well yet cozy. We designed the lighting of the space to enhance the ambience to be more cozy & warm. Patterned floor tiles, pergolas, and traditional platform seating’s distinguish the space to be unique in every possible way. Our Santorini themed roof garden won the hearts of our client’s and we are elated.
